About Us

How It All Started

Our Glowing Hearts began in 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like so many Canadians, we watched healthcare workers, first responders, and frontline heroes put themselves at risk every single day to keep our communities safe. We wanted to do something — anything — to show them they weren't alone.

So we made a heart. A simple LED neon heart, glowing in a window, as a symbol of hope, gratitude, and solidarity. Neighbours noticed. Friends asked for one. Then strangers did too. What started as a small gesture of compassion grew into something much bigger than we ever imagined.

Handmade in Mississauga, Ontario

Every single Our Glowing Hearts piece is designed and hand-assembled in our workshop in Mississauga, Ontario. We use flexible LED neon tubing mounted on solid Canadian hardwood frames — no flimsy imports or mass-produced shortcuts. Each piece is built by hand, inspected by hand, and packaged by hand before it ships to your door.

We are proudly Ontario Made certified through the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, which means our products meet strict standards for Canadian manufacturing. From the hardwood frames to the final quality check, our process is rooted right here in Canada.

What We Make

Our signature product is the LED neon heart — available in our original 12-inch size, the compact 7-inch mini, and the tiny 3-inch battery-powered ornament. Each heart comes in a range of colours including warm white, cool white, magenta, cyan, pink, red, orange, green, yellow, and our ever-popular rainbow. We also make LED neon maple leafs and seasonal pieces like our Movember moustaches.

Every piece draws minimal power (just 5 watts for the 12-inch hearts), comes with an inline dimmer switch and power supply, and is designed to glow safely around the clock. They make beautiful night lights, window displays, bedside accents, and gifts for nearly any occasion.

Giving Back

Community has been at the core of Our Glowing Hearts from day one. A portion of every sale supports charitable causes we believe in, including the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, Environmental Defence Canada, and The AFC. Since 2021, we have donated more than $130,000 to organizations making a difference in our community.

We also love connecting with our community in person. You can find us at local markets and events throughout the year, including the Toronto Arts Market, The Distillery Winter Village, One of a Kind Show, and Fur Ball charity events.
