Raising money for great causes

We at Our Glowing Hearts are happy to announce that as of the end of April, 2021 and thanks to your support we have been able to donate over $21,000 to the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation (MGHF) and $5,000 to AFC Helps. (The AFC)

When you purchase a heart of any colour, except for red, you help contribute to our supportive efforts to MGHF.  Our red heart was launched in support of the Light Up Live event held in September of 2020 to bring attention to the plight of the live entertainment industry.  

Why do we support the MGHF?

The MGHF is the Heart of the East.  A wonderful hospital foundation that runs many community outreach programs and is an innovative healthcare organization in East Toronto.  

East Toronto is one of Canada’s most diverse communities, with more newcomers, children, elderly people living alone, and refugees than elsewhere in the city. And just as diverse as the faces in the hospital’s hallways are the healthcare needs of our community.

Supporting the Heart of the East means supporting the well-being of a vibrant community.

Why do we support the AFC?

The AFC is the lifeline for Canada’s entertainment industry. Through compassionate and confidential support, we help Canadian entertainment professionals maintain their health, dignity and ability to work. The AFC is an expression of the community’s good will, helping entertainment professionals when they are at their most vulnerable due to injury, illness or other personal hardship.

In the last 24 months, The AFC has distributed over $1.4 million in emergency financial aid to help entertainment professionals working in all aspects of film & TV, music, theatre and dance. The AFC believes by supporting the health and well-being of arts and entertainment professionals, the industry as a whole will benefit. In a sector in which employment can be unpredictable, it’s good to know that a caring community has your back.
